PS3 or Xbox 360?

Post by Syren Song on Thu Mar 12, 2009 8:33 pm

So, let's hear it! Which is better?

I am a PS3 girl! PS3 games are capable of more graphically. The PS3 does not break after a month. It has free online gaming and web browsing. It has more hard drive space. It has a 6-axis controller. All Xbox games you can play on the PC, so you don't even need the Xbox. PS3 has Blu-Ray. It has wireless network capability built into it. PS3 has a rechargeable battery in the controller. And it's not Microsoft! Anything extra on Xbox you have to pay for. They are money-grubbers.

Although I have both I have to throw my vote in for the 360.

My 360 Elite has yet to show signs of breaking, so I am rather glad of that. Although it doesn't have free online gaming it has a great free online browser and the advantage of having to pay for online gaming privileges means a higher standard of gamers instead of winy 12 year olds. Driver space is pretty darn good for me, better than my PS3 actually. I find the elite controllers much more comfortable than the PS3 ones, easier on the hands. Many games, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Halo Wars and more are all actually exclusive to the 360. Controllers give you the option of either a wire, replaceable battery, or a wireless battery pack for the back that recharges via cable. It sports a wider variety of games than the PS3 and does boast an impressive graphical capability, even if it falls short of the PS3. The elite pretty much gave me everything extra I'd otherwise have to buy at a good price! Wireless network capability is available, even if it isn't built in. It also has legendary games such as the Halo saga and Gears of War!

Also...gamer points! Laughing

I have neither, but I totally say 360. The load time for the ps3 is irksome. They had a good idea with the no loading screens, but seriously, when I wanna play a game, I wanna play! I don't mind 1 minute loading screens, but the ps3... *shakes head* It's trying to be too advanced for its time. Plus it doesn't help that they don't have that many interesting games for PS3. I'm pretty sure the graphics are on par with the xBox (cause the ps2 sure isn't), so for purposes of liking to game during what time I have and with pretty pictures, 360 wins. Plus, it's cheaper, and the controllers seem to be sturdier than the playstation ones. If I wanted to watch blue-ray, I'd buy a blue-ray player (I also think blue-ray is too advanced for it's time, and bad for business with this economy.) I just hope ps3 doesn't lag like the ps2 did. Every time I wanted to play dynasty warriors at work, the game would go at the speed of a turtle -____- I don't remember though, are 360's and ps3's backwards compatible?

Well.. aside from the 360 having more games available, I like the PS3 better I think. In general I really dislike how Microsoft designs things. Unofortunately, they have been the standard for most PC software for a long time and are now becoming the same for console gaming. In my opinion, PS3 has a better controller, cleaner menu, better features and hardware (the processor, blue-ray drive, wireless network, etc). It somewhat irritates me that a lot of the classic PlayStation games are being released on xbox, but oh well.. The PS3 will still have God of War 3.

I like PS3 for 1 reason:

1. Because I've never played Xbox.

But yeah, I'm not smart like you guys. I just play without worry of graphics, and what not. XD Although to be honest, I'd probably like PS3 more anyway, even if I knew a lot of about Xbox and stuff.

PS3 is just something I'm more familiar with, and it seems to do the trick just as well as everything.

Aww yeah, I agree, Hope. ^_- The PlayStation system has always just been "home" for me too, you know?

Lol at Hope and Fate.

I've never actually seen the ps3 in action, so my vote was kinda biased too. Oh well. XD
However, if anything will sway you, some games to check out are Tales of Vesperia, Dynasty Warriors 6, Fallout 3, Samurai Warriors 2 Empires, Call of Duty: Wolrd at War, Soul Calibur and more, all for XBox 360. Each of these games give good example of the functionality of the XBOX 360, and also show some of the various genres available. Another thing that I really like is the ability to download games. I've spent far too long being amused by the final fantasy advance tactics ripoff that's available for 360. XD
