Who should be America's next President?
The Next US President
If you are too young to vote or simply are not registered, then who are you routing for for the next President of the United States? If you are eligible to vote, then who are you planning on voting for?
I, personally, have been behind Obama since the beginning.

Re: The Next US President
I'm Canadian, so the matter isn't really up to me : P
But I'm actually rather torn on this issue, for a number of reasons..
• I'm a huge gun nut; Obama is as staunchly anti-gun as an American presidential candidate can hope to be without committing campaign suicide. If he gets elected, I can only imagine the 4-year field day the liberal-leftist media will have with renewed 'assault weapon bans' - which his cabinet will doubtlessly enforce - further demonizing firearm owners in the public eye, and making life a hell of a lot easier for violent criminals - who don't even purchase their weapons through legal channels in the first place.
So thats one negative for Democrats..
• I'm also a whole-hearted advocate of net neutrality - McCain's campaign stance on this issue - and his proposal to police every faucet of 'life' on the internet - in particular, the proposal to give the Federal Bureau of Investigation the authority to monitor the emails of, mobilize upon and arrest any US citizen they suspect of being a 'terrorist' without warrant or trial - doesnt sit well with me; that kind of power is far too easily abused, in my opinion - it, in conjunction with the already-existing (I just remembered; It's called the 'PATRIOT' act) could allow future governments to ultraefficiently suppress political dissent with total secrecy and impunity - Overly Orwellian, for my taste. On the other hand, this sort of power would also aid law enforcement officers greatly in the war against child pornographers - so it's a bit of a trade off on this issue.
• Continued American presence in Iraq
I'm for it, McCain's for it.
If history repeats itself - which it always does - then the very heartbeat that the last of the American forces pull out of the Persian Gulf, all hell will break loose. Iraq is NOT ready to govern itself, but it's getting there. A few more years of coalition policework and everything should be a-okay. Regardless of my views on the initial causes of the war (LOL ILLEGAL), if only for the well-being of the Iraqi people, a civil war must be averted at all costs - and the only way to put a stop on that is to stick around. Fact.
• War with Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran's continued existence is (in myyyy opinion) a horrific travesty against reason and basic human dignity. McCain has not ruled out aiding Israel and Saudi Arabia in a joint (or even nuclear) strike on Iran - so I throw my dice with him on this issue.
But once more - I'm Canadian, so I'll be voting on far less pertinent issues than these ; P

Lol yep, like I was just telling someone else - there are always going to be good and bad things on either side. I just hope that, no matter who wins, we can all live more happily and comfortably.
