I've managed to catch myself a cold, and I have rehearsal today for my church. This means I have to belt a song that's hard enough as it is without my throat being on fire and a headache that makes me feel like my whole head with explode.

A suggestion, though you might think I'm stupid, is to rub your stomach moving your hand in a circle on it. Not moving to fast, just calmly circling it.

It works for me. I don't know why it works though. The person who suggested it to me said that it might be because it's what moms sometimes do when they are pregnant with you. And so it's comforting But I don' t know if I believe that. XD

But yeah, it works for me. So you minus well give it a try.

That's actually not a bad idea. Aww, and I wouldn't have thought of that, but it could originate from when you were in the womb.

Unfortunately, I think this is more severe than an ordinary stomach ache... Sad

The pain is toward my lower stomach or abdomen, and it's actually been hurting me for about 3 or 4 days now. It was more of a dull and constant pain until early this morning. I woke up at 3 AM in horrible, excruciating pain, and it was a continual pain coming from my lower stomach. No matter what position I got in, it didn't help. It hurt so bad, that I actually felt sick and had to go to the bathroom to vomit.

It hurt really bad for awhile, until Tony decided it'd be best to try and take me to the walk-in clinic just down the street. We weren't sure though if they were open 24 hours. It turned out that they weren't. So, instead, we went to one of the few Wallgreens in this city that is open 24 hours to get a couple types of medicine, hoping to solve the issue. Well, it's now 8:40 AM for me, and the pain is still present.

Tony was debating whether or not to take me to a doctor today, but he really couldn't stay home from work since he used all his sick days. I decided to look more into this, and found out that there are a lot of things that could be causing this pain, especially since I'm a woman. I seem to be exhibiting symptoms for more than just one thing too, which is scary. Just some of the things that it could be are Pancreatitis, kidney or bladder stones, and a condition with the reproductive organs, such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cysts, and fibroids. I'm reading about this right now... Shocked

If I do end up going to the doctor, this is also what I found what he'll do and check for...

Acute and sudden pains are always worrying but chronic pain can also have serious implications and a doctor should be consulted.

The doctor will ask about periods, passing of urine and bowel movements. They might also ask if there have been episodes of nausea, vomiting, or fever. If appropriate, they may ask questions concerning the person's emotional life - family, friends, work - and their sex life.

The doctor will want to examine you. This will involve feeling your abdomen and, in addition, an internal examination (vaginal,rectal or sometimes both) may be necessary.

Further investigations or treatment will be based upon the description of the pain and the findings of the doctor's examination.

Typically, a urine sample will be requested and tested for any signs of infection.

If a kidney problem is suspected than an ultrasound scan of the kidneys and bladder will be arranged.

If a problem with the womb or ovaries is suspected, swabs from the vagina looking for any infection might be performed and an ultrasound scan of the womb and ovaries is commonly performed.

I guess if the pain doesn't stop or lighten up, I'll have to go as soon as I can.

Just get plenty of rest, make sure you do end up seeing a doctor so you can at least be sure of what is wrong with you, and most importantly, don't worry about it. I'm sure you will be fine. Hug

Thank you so much, Tempest. I really appreciate it. I think he'll be taking me to the doctor tonight after work so we can determine what's wrong (and hopefully solve this constant pain).

Phew good Fate. I'm really glad to hear that you are going to the Doctor. Even if the pain dulls, it's something to look into because you've had it for almost a week now.

Well there's some bad news. Tony took me to the doctor's and everything, but I found out that my insurance has expired, and I definitely don't have over $100 to just pay them. So, we left and I'm waiting to hear back from my mom about what to do. Hopefully she can just transfer some money to me to go, since I'd really like to go soon.

Well, I found out that I DO have insurance, but I'm no longer under my parent's policy. I'm just on my own now. It's strange that the lady who looked up my insurance didn't notice that. But the OTHER bad thing is that I don't have a card -- I never got one! So, I can't prove that I have insurance. My dad was hoping he could find some paperwork with information on it, but the bad news on HIS part, is that he can't seem to find it. xD Sooo, I've just been waiting to hear back from him to see what I should do. Meanwhile, my stomach's still bothering me.

I'm not sure when I'll get to go to the doctor now, honestly. I guess I'll see.

I mean, my friend Lilly had like what we thought was a bad bug bite that just got infected. And we went to the doctors, because it hadn't gone away yet and it'd been like a week. And it was only seeming to get worse. But we decided to leave because an AWFUL soap opera was playing, and the doctors were taking FOREVER. But that night, she ended up having to be taken to the emergency room because she spiked an extremely high fever. And the doctors told her that if they waited til morning, she probably would have died. Turns out she had some kind of Staff infection.

Obviously....you don't have this. But I still suggest you go, because it is an on going thing, and at this point it would just seem to be better safe than sorry.
