The Star Oceans Series

Star Ocean: The Second Story was my first ever role-playing game, and it was on PS1. I remember my Uncle gave it to me, since he thought it looked like something I would like. I believe I was 10 years old. Unfortunately, the first game (just called Star Ocean in Japan) was not released in the US, but they did release a remake of it called Star Ocean: First Departure for the PSP. To make it simple, here are the games chronologically:

1. Star Ocean - PS1, Japan release only
Star Ocean: First Departure - PSP (remake of Star Ocean)
2. Star Ocean: The Second Story - PS1
Star Ocean: Second Evolution - PSP (remake of The Second Story)
3. Star Ocean: Blue Sphere - Game Boy Color, Japan release only
4. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time - PS2
5. Star Ocean: The Last Hope - Xbox 360 (prequel to all the games)

The latest Star Ocean game, which was release February 24th of this year, as you can see, is the only game to not be for a PlayStation console. (Bastards!) It is, however, an exceptionally well-made game with the best graphics and most beautiful scenery yet. I'm playing it currently and am addicted, just like with the other Star Ocean games. I suppose the thing that I love about it too is that it is set in the future, and there is a lot of gorgeous hi-tech stuff that you're surrounded with, and you get to travel in space from planet to planet. Some planet's technology levels are like set in Earth's medieval times, and there is also magic (Symbology) that some characters can use, so there is still that fantasy aspect of the game that'll attract lovers of that genre as well.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend any of these games! Ever since first being introduced to it, they have been my favorite RPG.

*gasp* I saw this topic and had to post! I've become addicted to Star Ocean: T he Last Hope. It's the only one I've gotten to play so far, and I just love it! I can't wait to finish it up so I can play the others ones. It's really an interesting and great story! I must say that, so far, Lymle is my favorite character, hehe. She's just so adorable!
