Points and Reputation

Points
The Point system is a system based on various types of different criteria.

How are Points allocated?

+1 Point per post you make
+3 Points per topic you start
+1 Point for every day since you've joined
+3 Points per friend
+3 Points per profile message
+1 Point per Reputation Point

Reputation
Reputation is composed of items related to evaluations by users and items related to the feature "Thanks." If someone has Thanked you, that post will turn blue.

How is Reputation calculated?

+1 rep point per every +
-1 rep point per every -
+3 rep points per every "Thanks"
+2 rep points per every + in the Role-Playing forums
-2 rep points per every - in the Role-Playing forums
+4 rep points per every "Thanks" in the Role-Playing forums

The reason we have the Reputation set higher in all the role-playing forums is to encourage critiquing of other's written works and their ideas. Please be fair but honest.

You are only allowed to place votes for Reputation 10 times daily, and you must wait 2 minutes between each vote. You also must have at least 30 posts in this message board before you are able to add or subtract from anyone's Reputation.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......Interesting. Sorry I asked about it, for some reason I didn't see it.

So if I say "Thank you" it will automatically turn blue and give thanks? How does it know who it's giving thanks too?

Oh, well you have to click the "Thanks" button on the post of another person. It's at the very top of each post (not made by you) in red. If you click that "Thanks" button, then that post will then turn blue, to alert the other member that you thanked them for something (ie. help, feedback, critiquing, a good comment, etc.).

Do we do anything with the points?

I mean, I know on a forum my friend goes too, their points equal money they have to use in an rp. Not saying we'll use money....but do they have some other meaning?

(Sorry to keep asking questions, but for some reason, this system is not clicking. T.T I sound dumb. lol)

I dunno, we could do something like that, but I don't think it'd work out so well. It's just more of a fun thing, sort of giving everyone more of an incentive to post and be active within the community. Does that make sense? It's just something non-committal for a bit more to add to being a member here.
