Micro Adaptive Detonator - "MAD": These tiny explosives resemble a button cell battery. They are extremely tiny and easy to carry around. The power within them is so extreme though, that they are capable of destroying an entire planet and turning into nothing more than space dust. This explosive power can be adjusted, however, to suit the occasion. It can explode into a very tiny burst, comparable to a firework, or as large as to wipe out a planet and everywhere in between. It is detonated by a series of key words spoken that trigger the explosion. The words are programmed into the Micro Adaptive Detonator, and once spoken, the MAD will go off in however much time it has been programmed to. Some MADs have many key phrases that can be spoken, each with different explosive capabilities. MADs were originally manufactured by the Zetans for war, but soon became a popular weapon around the universe, and so they were sold commonly on the Black Market. Since each individual MAD is designed uniquely, they cost a pretty penny and are usually hard to come by.



Bolt Blaster: The Bolt Blaster fires bursts of particle beam energy called blaster bolts from a replaceable power cell. The most commonly used weapon in the galaxy, blasters' intense beams consisting of compacted high-energy particles and intense light can kill or paralyze their target, depending on their setting. Blasters range from compact pistols, all the way up to large, heavy rifles and spaceship-mounted blaster cannons.



Sonic Blaster: Known notoriously as the shock wave shriek, Sonic Blasters are ranged weapons similar to Bolt Blasters, that create a high-intensity sonic blasts, powerful enough to shatter solid objects and cause devastating injuries to sentients. The Sonic Blaster fires compressed bolts of pure sound at its target, though it is capable of having its settings adjusted to change the shape and length of its sound waves. Though slightly less powerful than standard energy weapons such as Bolt Blasters and pulse-wave weapons, the Sonic Blaster is particularly effective against multiple targets, as its sound waves are capable of spreading out and growing as it travels through the air, taking out all in its path. Sonic Blasters commonly feature both blast and stun settings, the latter producing a high-pitched wail designed to disrupt equilibrium and cause unconsciousness. The regular blast setting produces a wide-dispersal cone of sonic energy.

Universal Helix - "Unilix": A widespread device used by the most technologically advanced societies in the universe is an apparatus called a Universal Helix, or Unilix for short. It is worn on the wrist of either arm, much like a watch, and the gadget itself appears simple, plain, metallic, and not very unique upon first observation. Its power lies in the science inside it, however. Invented by the Provectus, the Unilix device displays a wide range of information holographically, and the holograms themselves are entirely interactive. Additionally, the Unilix responds to mental commands, starting and closing upon thought. Not only does the Unilix display virtually any information desired, but it also is entirely capable of analyzing the atmosphere and altering a person's genetic information to, literally, reconstruct their internal organs on a molecular level so that, no matter what planet the wearer is on, they can be assured that they will be able to breathe properly. Moreover, the Unilix acts as a direct translator for every known language, granting the wearer the ability to instantly speak and understand whichever language needed.

• triggering the central nervous system to allow the wearer to perform various motor skills they otherwise could not
• altering the physical form and appearance of its wearer, and thereby shape-shifting them into a new desired appearance
• acting as night-vision by means of looking through the hologram display screen
• granting underwater breathing in the same way it can allow breathing on other planets



Artificial Currency Exchange - "ACE": The universal currency for almost all modern planets in EthereaLights is called ACE, which is an acronym for Artificial Currency Exchange. It is digital money which is kept track of via a micro implant inserted into the hand upon birth. The technology for this is remarkable, in that it responds to the person's thoughts, able to display the user's bank account information upon will in the form of a hologram, which appears and hovers over the person's hand. It is completely controlled with their mind, thus able to open, close, and access any information at just a single thought. It also is only visible as a hologram to the individual and no one else. In order to pay for anything in particular, all the person needs to do is wave their hand in front of an ACE scanner, which will instantly transfer the funds from their account. 1 ACE ≈ $5 US Dollars.



Matter Transference - "Teleportation": Invented first by the Provectus and then reverse-engineered by the Zetans, matter transference machines, which are capable of transporting beings across space and distance instantly, are constantly being perfected and recreated. The cost and amount of antimatter energy required for producing just a single teleportation machine alone though is extremely high. Therefore, not many teleportation machines exist in the universe. There are only a couple hundred located on the planet Vaelzar, only a few dozen on Zetar, and less than a handful on other advanced planets. Teleportation machines are only capable of teleporting a person to another teleportation machine located on the same planet. As of yet, they are unable to transport a being from one planet to another, and in order to work, there must be another matter transference machine on the planet; there can never just be one. Teleportation machines are typically triangle-shaped, but can also be circular.

Robotics jump started after the worldwide government acknowledgment of extraterrestrial existence in the universe. It is believed that one species of alien has aided mankind in many things, one of them being the construction of capable, advanced robots and androids. Both types have already existed for many years outside of Earth on other planets with intelligent beings.

Both robots and androids have serial numbers in their official names. The letter (A, B, C, D, etc.) represents which generation it is, A being 1st (and the oldest), and E being the latest upgrade on Earth, but Z being the latest upgrade on more advanced planets. The numbers represent which the particular robot or android was in terms of when it was created (the first of that generation, the 200th, the one-millionth, etc.).

Robots: Robots are defined as a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically and whose physical appearance can range vastly, but that does not resemble a humanoid. Robots have one main purpose they are designed for, and they work tirelessly to carry that action out flawlessly. Robots possess no capability to understand humans and their intelligence is very, very low, depending on their purpose. All they know is what they were programmed to do, how to repair themselves if damaged to a certain degree, and to respond to basic human commands and obey them.



Androids: The difference between an android and a robot is that an android always resembles a humanoid of some sort, be them real or created. Androids, or droids as they are sometimes called, also typically have many added features and abilities that robots do not, such as the ability to understand human behavior and emotion and the capability of synthetically expressing emotions, the means to speak and understand languages, and the power to learn and grow mentally, as well as to carry out a number of actions a robot is not designed for. Androids are manufactured for many purposes, be them commercial, industrial, domestic, etc. Additionally, specific androids are also produced for military purposes. Many advanced civilizations across the universe utilize the power of androids to fight their battles for them, thus saving sentient life and only sacrificing their own money and resources put into the android armies.

There are multiple ways to traverse space, be it by bending space and time, jumping a wormhole, or just moving about in conventional space. It depends on a species' technology to determine how they go about traveling through the galaxies.


Bending the Space-Time Continuum - "Warping": The most advanced form of traveling vast distances is by the contortion of space and time. A common analogy used to help explain this method is: Using an ordinary piece of paper, consider it the expanse of the universe. Let's say that we are at one corner of the universe here on Earth, while another race is at the far corner of the paper diagonal from us. You might say that the fastest way to get to that other planet is by going in a straight line, however, that is not the case. The fastest point from Earth to that other planet is by folding the paper and bringing our corner to their corner. This is bending the space-time continuum. This form of space travel is only available to the most technologically advanced species in the universe who have discovered ways of making this possible. (In EthereaLights, the ones who are able to do this include Provectus, Crittals, Allurel, and Zetans.) The common term for this used around the universe is warping. Warping from one place to another essentially 'freezes' time, causing the warper to arrive at the new location at the precise moment in which they warped. Warping can only be done inside of a spaceship capable of carrying all its occupants simultaneously to the new travel destination. In other words, it is the spaceship itself which makes warping possible.



Wormholes: In physics, a wormhole is a topological feature of space-time that is fundamentally a 'shortcut' through space and time. A wormhole has at least two mouths (though, in rare cases, more - making them potentially dangerous and unpredictable) which are connected to a single throat or tube. Matter can travel from one mouth to the other by passing through the throat. The term 'wormhole' refers to both a black and a white hole as one object in space. While a black hole acts as a vacuum, drawing in any matter that crosses the event horizon, a white hole acts as a source that ejects matter from its event horizon. In other words, one end of a wormhole is a black hole, drawing in matter, and the other is a white hole, emitting matter. Black holes form when stars collapse, and therefore there are many wormholes throughout the universe to travel through, most of which have been identified by the Provectus and their paths documented. The upside to traveling through wormholes, is that the traveler exceeds the speed of light by merely jumping from one location to another at a very far distance. The downsides though are many, since not all wormholes have been documented, and thus their paths are not always certain. A traveler may want to venture from their current location to another they have in mind, but a wormhole could carry them in a far different direction entirely. Another downside to wormhole travel is that the ships that are capable of traveling through them must have very powerful electromagnetic shields, which prevent penetration from outside objects by blocking them with a barrier surrounding the spaceship. Most species in the universe that are able to create powerful enough shields to allow them safe passage through a wormhole usually already know how to warp, thus making wormhole travel obsolete. One final drawback to wormhole travel, is that the traveler cannot pick and choose their destination; they must simply travel through the wormhole tunnel and come out of the white hole in a location in space that is closest to their desired destination, and then travel in conventional space afterward.



Conventional Space/Standard Velocity: Conventional space simply refers to traveling in a given direction at any particular speed. Anything else is more like teleportation, while traveling at a standard velocity is actually moving through space, rather than skipping over it. Humans currently are only able to travel using this method, but they are capable of traveling roughly around half the speed of light. However, light speed is impossible, as an object moving at light speed requires an infinite amount of energy and it would also be infinitely large, thus obviously making such a speed not possible. The speed of light is defined as 299,792,458 metres per second (or 186,282.4 miles per second). In Einstein's general theory of relativity, space-time is curved by the presence of matter and energy, causing gravitation. The propagation of disturbances in this curvature, including gravitational waves, theoretically increases at or near the speed of light.
