Hello, hello!!!

I’m Somnium Shadow, but you all can all me SS or some other variation of my name since it’s a bit of a mouthful. I was brought here by Fate Falls, who, to me, is known as Willow Waters, hehe. She introduced me to this site to me not too long ago and I’ve wanted to join since I first saw. Unfortunately, I was just pretty much booked with school stuff and other such things, but now that school’s nearly over, I’m reading to take part in this!

Let’s see, my favorite role-play genres generally vary on my mood. I generally stick to modern fantasy or realistic, but I also enjoy branching out and trying new things. I really enjoy learning new things from other people, I’ve already done a lot of that when it’s come to role-playing and I really feel as if I learn something new with each person I role-play with. It’s helped me grow as a writer, though that isn’t what I inspire to be. For me, role-playing is a great creative outlet.

I’m currently going to school with a major in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. I love it, I truly do. I love analyzing people and giving them advice whenever I can. I love helping people whenever I can and I’m willing to open my eyes to new ideas. I’m not close-minded in the least, but when I have a point, I’m going to be sure to make it and stick by it. I’m firm in my beliefs and you have to have a really good point to get me to budge on them at all. But other than analyzing and helping people, I love to watch movies! People often come to me for movie suggestion or if they ever need someone to explain one to them. I could never get sick of watching movies; it’s just something I truly love to do. I also enjoy watching T.V., reading, writing, role-playing, singing, and of course spending time with family and friends.

I also love spending time with my fiancé, TJ. I love him to death and nothing’s going to change that. We’ve been through some rough patches, but we’ve always been able to get through them together. We’re to be married in May of 2010 and I cannot wait! And it’s not just because on our honeymoon I get to swim with my favorite animal, dolphins, lol. But seriously, I really do love dolphins and if I don’t get to swim with them I’ll probably throw a fit, haha. Alright, I think I’ve rambled on enough about myself, hehe. I can’t wait to meet you guys and start getting more involved on the site!

Oh, one more little thing, I’m obsessed with Harry Potter. It’s probably my favorite series of books--my favorite single book is All Around the Town by Mary Higgins Clark, I’ve read it eight times--and I really have been enjoying the movies. Oh, and my newest obsession video game wise is Star Ocean, thanks to Wil, haha. Which reminds me, I should play that this weekend…

I think I might have told you once, but Tony/onenitedrive almost went into psychology too. I think it'd be so interesting, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it as well. People are definitely mysteries to solve sometimes too, lol.

Yay! We're getting married the same month of the same year! Just a week apart! Hahaha aww. You sound like me about the dolphins lol. *pokes Tony*

I'm so glad that we're both hooked on Harry Potter haha. I've never read All Around the Town though. What's that about? Oh and Star Ocean = major win!!

I think you may have mentioned that a while ago, actually. Psychology really is quite an interesting subject. I love being able to analyze people and trying to figure out how to help them when it comes to everyday living. It’s really rewarding when you feel that you’ve helped someone too.

We are! I would have laughed if we ended up getting married on the same day! *pokes Tony too* You should go swim with some dolphins. I can’t wait to do it! I know it’s going to be a bit expensive, but it’s well worth it for the experience. *pokes Tony again*

OMG, Harry Potter = Life, lol! All Around the Town is about…hold on; I’ll get the synopsis because I will end up spoiling the entire thing if I start talking about it.

When Laurie Kenyon, a twenty-one-year-old student, is accused of murdering her English professor, she has no memory of the crime. Her fingerprints, however, are everywhere. When she asks her sister, attorney Sarah, to mount her defense, Sarah in turn brings in psychiatrist Justin Donnelly. Kidnapped at the age of four and victimized for two years, Laurie has developed astounding coping skills. Only when the unbearable memories of those lost years are released can the truth of the crime come out -- and only then can the final sadistic plan of her abductor, whose obsession is stronger than ever, be revealed.

So, there you have it! That’s what it’s about and is it an awesome book! And Star Ocean, amazing! TJ’s hogging it right now though (he just got brachuss), so I’ll have to wait to play it later, hehe.

Oh, I'm sure it's extremely rewarding to find that you've really helped someone. That'd be such a good feeling, to know that you've really helped put a person's life on a better path in some way, big or small.

If we got married on the same day, then we'd have to get married at the same time, too! Oh! That reminds me: What time is your wedding? We haven't really set a time yet for ours, but I'm thinking it'll be at 4:00. What is the usual time for weddings? lol

That book sounds really fascinating! Now I'm curious as to what happened with Laurie. Did she really do it?? D: I need to read more haha.

Oooh, Bacchus is a cool character. I didn't use him in my party for very long though. My party right now consists of Edge, Arumat, Sarah, and Lymle. I'm not sure if that's a good match or what, but it works for me hehe. Edge and Arumat both are great melee fighters, but they both have different weapons and styles. Sarah is my healer obviously, and Lymle is my magic-caster. I never really considered all this before, but now I'm kind of thinking it over and analyzing it, since I'm at the very ending of the game! I'm really scared to continue, to tell you the truth haha. I keep feeling like I need to train and level more.

Hey! What's with all this poking? You both better watch it! lol Seriously though we'll see what we can do about that whole dolphin swimming thing. It's nice to have you here, SS. I've heard a lot of good things about you and the work you've done over at S*T

We’re supposed to be getting married at 5, I think, which is actually 4 your time! Hahaha, that’s pretty funny actually. But yeah, 4 or 5 is usually the “normal” time for weddings. And then receptions usually go until like 11 o’clock to midnight or something like that.

I’m not telling you! You should go read the book, haha. You’d probably enjoy it. It’s a wonderful psychological thriller. Oh man, I was literally on the edge of my seat by the time I got to the end. My heart was pounding with anticipation by that point and oh man! It was just great!

Ah!! I need to get back to Star Ocean. I was a total slacker today, seriously. I think after I got the LJ page up I ended up watching a ton of different movies that were on TV, haha. I’m on What a Girl Wants now. Actually, I’ll probably have about the same party as you when I get that far in the game. I love Lymle and having a healer is always a good thing. But we shall see!

Hehe, we were just sending a few hints your way, Tony! But it’s nice to finally meet you! I’ve heard so much about you, all good, hehe. You’ve got a great fiancée over there! You two are lucky to have one another, it sounds like you really support one another and all that other good mushy gooshy stuff, haha.
